Attached to Central in Whippleswick are eight housegroups. They meet on different days of the week, half during the day and half in the evening. Most have between eight and twelve members and, at any, newcomers would be made welcome. (If you are interested in joining a housegroup, please speak with Janet Langley.)
This autumn, the housegroups are going to look at John's gospel, especially its 'I am' sayings. (I am the bread of life, I am the way, the truth and the life, I am the good shepherd etc). Do these go back to Jesus? What did he, or John, mean by them? What picture of Jesus do they paint? How useful are they to those who follow him now? On Friday 6 December, at 7.30 pm, the groups will meet together in the Coffee Lounge at Central to share what they've discovered.
