Wesley Methodist Church, Dappleford, is to be found in the middle of the town. It's been at the heart of Dappleford life for nearly 150 years. The founder of Methodism, John Wesley, visited Dappleford in 1758 and there has been some kind of Methodist presence here ever since.
Wesley is an imposing Victorian building. The chapel has a seating capacity of more than 300, with pews gathered around a large pulpit and a splendid Morgan-Croaker 3-manual pipe organ. Services are held morning and evening most Sundays, with a small evening congregation gathering in the choir vestry.
You'll get a warm welcome at Wesley on a Sunday or Tuesday afternoon (Women's Fellowship) or Thursday evening (1st of the month, Wesley Guild). On the third Wednesday of every month, 'Prayer & Pies' is a popular and filling occasion.
Wesley's minister is Dappleshire's superintendent: Rev'd Wendy Warburton.
