Miss Alice Davis has been playing the Privett Street organ for fifty years.
"Her enthusiastic playing always makes a memorable contribution to worship."
Last Sunday, during a service led by Dappleshire Superintendent Rev'd Wendy Warburton, Miss Davis was presented with a long-service certificate and a bouquet of flowers. Mrs Warburton spoke about Miss Davis' wonderful commitment. "Her enthusiastic playing always makes a memorable contribution to worship." In the winter of 1980-81, following a fall on the ice, there were several weeks when Miss Davis was only able to play with her feet.
With no assistant organist on the horizon, many more services lie ahead.
